Climbing Permits and Regulations
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Sabah Parks issued a total of 185 climbing permits daily (10 permits for Sabahan climbers, 25 permits for Malaysian climbers, and 150 permits for Malaysian and/or international climbers). This measure was implemented to prioritise safety and effectively monitor climbers ascending to the summit of Low's Peak in complete darkness. Additionally, it aimed to prevent overcrowding on the summit trail. However, in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Sabah Parks currently issues only 163 climbing permits per day, as of January 25, 2023. It is mandatory for all climbers to obtain climb permits from Sabah Parks and secure accommodation in Panalaban Base Camp well in advance.

We offer comprehensive climb packages that are inclusive of accommodation at Panalaban Base Camp, which is located at an impressive elevation of 3,272 meters above sea level.
