Overview

This is an all-inclusive budget package for Mount Kinabalu climb with a stay at Panalaban Hostel or Lemaing Hut in Panalaban Base Camp.

This package includes:

  • 1-night accommodation and meals
  • Land transfers
  • Mountain guide
  • Climbing fees (entrance, permit, insurance, certificate)

This package is suitable for budget climbers who want an all-inclusive Mount Kinabalu climb package. They will be staying at one of the newly-established Panalaban Assorted Huts (Panalaban Hostel/Lemaing Hut).

Itinerary

DAY 1: KOTA KINABALU / KINABALU PARK HQ / TIMPOHON GATE / ASCEND MOUNT KINABALU / PANALABAN

  • Packed Lunch, Buffet Dinner
  • 06:00-07:00 Hr: Pick-up from your hotel lobby and depart for a 2-hour journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarter. Collect your packed lunch.
  • 09:00 Hr: Our guide will arrange for all necessary registrations, assign you a mountain guide, and apply for your ID TAG. Remember to wear your ID TAG at all times.
  • Transfer to the starting point at Timpohon Gate to begin the journey and quest to the summit of Borneo's highest mountain.
  • The climb will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Pass through different vegetation zones, including Oak and Chestnut, mossy, and eventually alpine types of vegetation.
  • Arrive in the late afternoon and check into Panalaban Assorted Hut @ 3230m a.s.l.
  • Enjoy a buffet dinner at Laban Rata restaurant and spend the night at Panalaban Assorted Hut.

DAY 2: LOW’S PEAK / DESCEND MOUNT KINABALU / KOTA KINABALU

  • Early Supper, Breakfast, Buffet Lunch
  • 02:00 Hr: Wake up for early supper and depart for continuation of journey towards the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
  • The journey to the Low's peak @ 4,095m will test your fitness and determination. Depending on speed of trekking, you might be able to experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kinabalu if weather permits.
  • 07:00 Hr: Descend back to Panalaban for late breakfast and check out.
  • Trek down to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to the Kinabalu Park Headquarter (est. arrival 13:00 Hr to 15:00 Hr).
  • Congratulations, you can now collect your Certificate of Achievement!
  • Buffet Lunch will be served at the Balsam restaurant in Kinabalu Park. However, due to the temporary closure of Balsam Restaurant, lunch will be served at Liwagu Restaurant after completing your climb.
  • Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu City. Journey takes approximately 2 hours.

Important Notes

  • Climbers arriving at Timpohon Gate after 4:30 PM will be charged MYR 15.00 per hour per guide, which must be paid to the guide on site.
  • Remember to bring your passport or MYKAD for verification during registration at the Kinabalu Park office.
  • Beginning September 1st, 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) for foreign tourists. The rate is MYR 10 per room per night, regardless of the accommodation's star level, and is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempt from the TTX and must present valid identification upon check-in to claim the exemption.
  • It is recommended that all climbers have a medical check-up before attempting any mountain climb.
  • Suppose you have a history of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, palpitations, arthritis, heart disease, severe anaemia, peptic ulcers, epileptic fits, obesity, chronic asthma, muscular cramps, hepatitis, or any other illness that may impede your climb, it is highly recommended that you refrain from climbing.
  • All children under the age of 15 must fill out an indemnity form upon registration at the park headquarters.
  • Our dedicated team operates around the clock to accommodate all guests' arrival schedules. Therefore, we are able to provide airport pick-up services at any time to match your arrival time. Please provide us with your flight details at least one week prior to your flight so we can make the necessary arrangements.
