Getting to Kota Kinabalu

Before you go, do learn that Sabah is located on the northern tip of East Malaysia, it is not connected by land with Singapore,

The only way to get into Kota Kinabalu internationally, is of course by plane, but do take note that from february 2012 gradually, Malaysia Airlines will be suspending routes from Tokyo, Osaka, Perth, and Seoul to Kota Kinabalu, making it harder to get in for some.

Internationally, do check out Skyscanner, it’s a whole lot easier to find out how to get into Kota Kinabalu, and maybe even make plans for a quick drop-by to Singapore during the transits for a quick city trip.

If you’re departing from Singapore, the most convenient way is to book your tickets with AirAsia or SilkAir, with their daily regular flights to and fro. However, I actually prefer the budget airline AirAsia so far, their daily flights all seem to be around the same timing.
